Fruzsina (14 years old, Szigetszentmiklós)

Read Fruzsina's own lines about her trip:

My most wonderful dream came true in Denmark thanks to the Csodalámpa. For two years, my dream was to get to Copenhagen. And as I am a music fanatic, the famous Copenhagen Opera also attracted me.

Even the flight was a big event for us, because me and my mom have never traveled by plane. We could experience the take off four times as we had to change flights in Berlin.
The beaches of Denmark were extremely beautiful from the plane, and after we landed to this happy country, every minute was fantastic. I really liked the cyclists and the helpful people.
The first night was wonderful at the decorated Tivoli adventure park.
The next day surpassed my hopes as we went to the Opera to see the Swan Lake right after we looked around among the colorful houses at the port. Mainly, it was the music what cought me, sometimes I was watching the conductor more than the actual dance, but of course, the dancers was really talented too and the sight was amazing. I was totally amazed by the building too, and with the other spectators we become one with the story and with the music. After this, I felt like every dream of mine came true.

But I still had a lot of experience waiting for me beside this.
The walk in the Botanic Garden and front of the palace, the beach with Little Mermaid, the Kastellet, the picture gallery about french impessionists (my favourites were Gaugain and Van Gogh), the market and every walk on the crowded streets.
I could taste the really special Danish cookies and for the first time in my life I ate suchi with fresh salmon and real Danish pork roast. Meanwhile, we could delight in the city which was preparing for christmas. As the Danish people, I also didn’t mind the rain and the wind.

I would have stayed for one more week, but this few days was also a lifetime experience for me. I will be always grateful to the Csodalámpa Foundation, because they made this travelling true for me.

We would like to say a special thank in the name of Fruzsina too to the leaders and members of XpatLoop, the largest Hungarian expat community, for organizing the Budapest Bonfire Night Party for Charity and for the donations raised at the event. We would also like to thank our private donors and the KAP charity program of MagNet Hungarian Community Bank for their support, that allowed to grant this very special wish.

Dávid (13 years old, Sajólád)

Four boys, one dream: to see the FC Barcelona playing a match "live".
And for one boy, it was a huge surprise, because Adorján’s parents hadn’t told him about the trip until they got to the airport. Neither of them have traveled by plane before and when the plane started to take off, they realized that this miracle is happening to them.

We arrived to Barcelona on Friday night. The less excited ones could sleep a little...
Next morning we were walking on the city’s famous mainstreet, the Rambla and we walked down to the port, but then we hurried back to our hotel because the boys needed time to get dressed in Barca colored clothes before the big match. We already knew that Messi was injured, but miraculously, he will be playing. We went to the Camp Nou by foot and we joined the crowd passing near to our hotel, all going to the stadium. First, we were just a small group of people, but et each crossing, more and more fans joined us.

The mood was really friendly and nice. Young parents with small children, like they were just going for a picnic. This reminds me that before and after our 3 day visit, it was cold and rain, but when we were there, it was 25° and sunshine. In the stadium, we were sitting near to a corner flag. There was a wonderful and exciting atmosphere, and not because of we were sitting in one of the world’s biggest stadium with full house, but because the city, the club and the Camp Nou was in the heart of the catalans. So this intensive feeling was love. We didn’t even wonder, that team Barcelona was warming up right next to our corner flag. Messi didn’t play during the first half, but this wasn’t a problem because Barca scored 3 goals to the Deportivo. In the second half, the catalans attacked to the side where we sat so we saw Neymar’s wonderful tricks very close. A bit later Messi joined, and it didn’t take long until he scored the 4th goal, which was the final score too. The catalan’s good mood has been secured for a while, everyone left the stadium euphorically. The city’s traffic was blocked in this area by the football fans.

Next day we were already familiar with the stadium when we went back. This time we visited the museum and we "looked behind the scenes".
It was amazing to see the relics, cups, gold shoes and goldball, all this in one place. We could take a look at the changing rooms, the press room, the small benches and we were arm’s length from the grass. The number of the boy’s Barca colored clothes and stuffs doubled that day... Then came the "icing on the cake", we went to the sandy beach nearby, and as none of the boys have never seen the sea before, they had to try and swim in it. It was a miracle even there, that in the middle of October they could still swim in the sea.
Last day, we walked through Gaudi’s famous creations, but the boys’ mind was on how they wanted to stay more and watch more matches. Although the journey lasted only 3 days, I am sure, that this memory left a mark on them forever and they are even going to tell this story to their grandchildren.

We would like to thank our sponsors and supporters, Mr. Zoltán Barthos , Mr. Szövérfi János, our private donors, and the havervagy.hu friendship association for their assistance!

We would like to pass on the thanks of the boys to Mónica Liminana and to Ms. Andrea Balatoni Kovács from Hilton Budapest City who organised a gourmet snack box for day of the match for the youngsters, courtesy of Hilton Barcelona.
