Mátyás (7 years old, Isaszeg)

Already on our first meeting it became apparent that Matyi simply loves books, then later I also learned he reads them studiously as well – especially ones about cars.

He told me his favorite car brand was Ferrari and he has once seen an ad on TV about a huge Ferrari book he very much wanted to have, but cost so much that he’d have to keep putting money in his piggy bank for years until he could buy it. Then, „closing the topic” he only said with a smile:

- ’well, that huge Ferrari book is the thing I’d like to get from the Genie’.

Nothing could be easier! – thought the Genie naively.

There was great disappointment however, when after a lengthy search it turned out that this special book was no longer on sale. The Genie, exhausted, was sitting on the steps of the bookshop when – like in a tale – a kind fairy was going that way, and upon learning the Genie’s big sorrow, only said: ’Never despair, I’ll get that book for you even if I have to give my life for it!’ – And so it happened and the fairy, namely Mr. Ákos Balogh, co-owner of the Libri publishing company soon came merrily with the news that Matyi’s wish can already come true – and together with the huge Ferrari book he also conjured another fantastically exciting Ferrari handbook, full of Ferrari wonders.
The Genie was beaming with happiness as he knew these beautiful books will get into the hands of a real little expert.

Then a few days went past and it turned out that the chamber of secrets was far from empty, and a host of mysterious surprises were awaiting Matyi, of course all of them revolving around Ferrari.

Conspiring with Matyi’s parents, we lured the little lad in front the Budapest Ferrari dealership. The boy arrived with his father, and seeing the Ferrari logo over the entrance and the two kind, smiling people in front of it, he already suspected that a real surprise was waiting for him inside.

Mr. Alessandro Lippi and Ms. Zsuzsa Kis, representatives of Ferrari Budapest welcomed the boy with so much love that all his anxiety evaporated, and stepping inside he immediately made his way towards a „modest”, fiery-red Ferrari like he was there every day. Inspecting and stroking the car he hardly believed his ears when he was told he can sit in. The true wonder came next however, when he was allowed to start the engine – certainly with the help of a kind salesman. Oh my, what a sound it had! We all felt like we were standing next to a Formula-1 racetrack.

/ 6

Matyi got out of the car with a little bit of pain in his heart, but soon found out that countless other wonders were waiting for him – in the workshop he already inspected the car laid out there like a serious expert, looking at its insides and the engine bay, but he had the chance to see many more dream cars... and the list of surprises still didn’t end: from the kindness of Zsuzsa and Alessandro he had the honor to be the first one to sit in the streamlined Ferrari that will take part on the races to be organized on Hungaroring in the summer of 2015 – and Matyi, as guest of honor will be able to see again the supercar whose seat he already warmed up.

When little Matyi already thought that he will unable to take in this much experience for a day, Alessandro picked the boy up laughing, stood him on the desk and together with Zsuzsa, presented him with all the gifts from the Genie: obviously starting with the requested big Ferrari book along with the small handheld „bible”, then a list of extra gifts: a real „adult” book for the brand in Italian (will be useful to start learning the language!), Ferrari pencils and diary, T-shirt, a huge poster with a moving personal message from Alessandro – and leaving the gift kindest to the boy to the last, a Ferrari 430 model car.

I cannot recall the moment how Matyi came down from the top of the desk, but I do remember that his eyes were glinting with deep gratitude and the promise that it will take some time for him to process all these wonderful experiences. He will surely never forget the reception full of love he was given by the warm-hearted representatives of Ferrari Budapest, Zsuzsa Kis and Alessandro Lippi.

Saying goodbye, I asked Matyi: do all these gifts worth you a kiss? And the answer was simple and explicit: ’Yes, even a thousand!’

Dear little Matyi, the entire team of Csodalámpa is wishing you a speedy and full recovery, and when your piggy bank will contain enough money to buy a real Ferrari, think of us and take us for a spin!

We would like to thank Mr. Ákos Balogh, co-owner of Libri Kiadó, and the representatives of Ferrari Budapest, Mr. Alessandro Lippi and Ms. Zsuzsa Kis for their help, as only with them could we give the little Matyi an experience he will never forget and put a happy smile on his face.

Máté (9 years old, Nyársapát)

I arrived to Nyársapát on Good Friday to visit Máté. We were unwrapping his present together, and her mother was configuring the laptop. From that time Máté was fascinated and completely forgot about everything around him while familiarizing himself with his new machine. It was obvious that he has good computer skills, from now on he can use his own laptop.

Enjoy your present, Máté.

Levente Ákos (13 years old, Sóshartyán)

Levente has been staying Miskolc’s GYEK hospital for a long time. His illness ties him to bed. He watches TV a lot. This is his favorite pastime.

He has heard of a kid in the hospital whose wish for an LCD TV was miraculously granted by Magic Lamp. This made Levente wish for a TV too.

On a bright sunny day his wish was granted by Magic Lamp and he was given a shiny new Samsung TV. His father helped set up the new TV which has a brilliant picture indeed.

Dear Levente!

I wish you lots of joy watching beatufil films on your new TV.

Thank you for the support of Magyar Nemzeti Bank.

Levente (4 years old, Miskolc)

This is how the family remembers:

Levente is about to turn 5 years old this summer, but haven’t yet had the chance to go the beach – to splash, as he says.

Before departure we told him that we would go to a really fun place where he can splash as much as he wants.
After departure from Miskolc, we were listening to him, “Levi’s gonna splash!”, and once we arrived to the hotel, we almost couldn’t check in for he was so excited.

We got beautiful rooms, we could take them even as a home, but had little time to wander, couldn’t even unpack, because a few minutes after entering the room, Levi was already in his bathing suit.

Then at last we entered the bath, and he could splash! The first jump was followed by another 40. He couldn’t care less about swallowing water; he enjoyed his time all the better. Out the pool, in the pool, over to the paddling pool, down the small slide, and again, and again, and again, running to the part with fountains and tunnels, then to the great slide, slide all the way down, falling, bumping the head, and laughing out loud to finish. He wasn’t thirsty by the evening, that’s for sure!

/ 4

The dinner was a feast, followed by the well-deserved, relaxing night’s sleep ... only until half five, because Mr. Splash rose early and came over to tell us that we cone go splash.

And that’s how five wonderful and unforgettable days passed. Obviously we tried the hotel’s other facilities: the play-house with the slide with tunnel, the trampoline or a nice walk in the park after dinner. The whole family got tired by the end for it was so intense, but we had an inexplicably good time and Levente is still looking at the pictures and videos taken of him splashing into the water.

Thank you to Boboorszag and Csodalampa, for us it was like a miracle.

Hanna (13 years old, Dorog)

Hanna’s big dream came true when she was able to participate on the concert of Alma Egyuttes, where she could finally listen to them live.

The concert was a great success among all participants, however for Hanna the venue was very special as she was separately greeted and welcomed by the band. The concert was held at the Lurdy Haz, Lurko Bill City –Wild West Playground. Photos were taken as well.

Since Hanna fights her disease every day it was especially wonderful to see her joy and happinness and that we were a part of bringing a small wonder to her life.

We’d like to thank Alma Egyuttes for the encounter.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Lurko Bill playground, especially to Dezso Baricz for the great way of organizing the event and for greeting us in such a nice way.

Fruzsina (4 years old, Sajókeresztúr)

Fruzsika has been treated in Miskolc at GYEK.
Her treatment comes to an end soon, however she still cannot have company for a while. She is fond of swinging and sliding though. There was no doubt what she would like to get from Magic Lamp Wish Fulfilling Foundation.
Fruzsika’s dream of course was to have her own wooden playground in the garden; therefore the jinn of Magic Lamp delivered the so awaited swing, slide, and jungle gym to the little girl.

Fruzsika happily started to take possession of her playgound.

/ 3

We all wish the little girl to spend many happy hours at the playground and have a quick recovery.

Thank you for the repeated help of Firstmed-FMC Kft. to their representative,

Kinga Málnási, who was personally present at the fulfilment.

We also would like to say thank you to Dr. Eszter Cziller, private donator for her help in delivering.

Ferenc Dominik (6 years old, Szeged)

7 year old Ferike from Szeged is recovering after surgery. He watches wresting on TV every Saturday night, he knows 30 wrestlers by their names, on top of this, even the doctors and the nurses had a lesson held by him on the the genre.

It was no question what Ferike’s wish could be: He wanted to watch a live wrestling event and meet the wrestlers themselves. But how is it possible? Luckily - first time in history – WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) visited Budapest with its live show.

Magic Lamp arranged that Ferike, with his parents, could attend the show, whilst the Hungarian and the American organizers made it possible, that behind the scenes he had a chance to talk to a real wrestler. He was really excited, because all along it was a secret who is it going to be.

Then it turned out: Dolph Ziggler (whose real name is Nicholas Nemeth and according to Wikipedia has hungarian origin) was talking to him.
Ferike prepared with 100 questions, but in the presence of the star, he kind of lost his courage... Of course, they were still chatting for around 10 minutes, there was a photo taken, signed shirt and magazines.

After that, we took our places in the Arena, and the show started soon.
Ferike knew every wrestler, he was cheering for the whole two hours. As his father told me: „He said in the morning, Dad, I wish this day would never end.”
During the show he managed to get another special „present”: Roman Reigns walked past us into the ring and a piece of his hair landed right in the hands of Ferike...

/ 4

The final, and the main fight was between everyone’s - and Ferike’s favourite - the superstar, John Cena and Rusev, the Russian conqueror. Ten thousand people celebrated Cena entering the Arena. The east opening was cancelled on that night as well, and finally the american Cena defeated the Russian Rusev.

We would like to say thank you to the the employees of Live Nation Magyarország and BudapestAréna for the excellent-seated tickets and for organizing the meeting with the Wrestlers. Special thanks to Attila Nagy and Budapest Taxinak for their help in transportation of the familiy, and to the managers of Hilton Budapest Hotel for the amazing accomodation, because together with all the help from the sposors, Feri’s dream could be fulfilled.

Áron (9 years old, Ózd)

Áron from Ózd spends a lot of time in hospital due to his illness. Usually, he gets very bored during the lengthy treatments, therefore he wished for an X BOX KINECT from the Magic Lamp (Csodalámpa) Foundation.

The Ginnie of the Magic Lamp was played by a family from the same city. The two sons of this family were also granted their wishes by the Magic Lamp Foundation when they were younger and ill. The elder one, Peter, asked for a laptop, and the younger, Patrik, wanted to travel to Euro-Disneyland with his father.

Both wishes were granted by the Ginnie of the Magic Lamp. This happened many years ago. Since then the boys grew up...

But they remembered what a great feeling it was when their wishes were granted so they vowed that when they would have the means they would return the favor and help another ill child’s dream come true. And thus it happened.

The Csoma family lives and works in Germany for a number of years, and so now they have the means to become the one who gives the gifts. The large family could hardly fit in the small isolation ward where Áron is treated.

To his big surprise Áron received a big box, in it lay hidden the X BOX with many games. And there was much rejoicing. The Csoma family was very happy when they saw the joy on Áron’s face. And Áron’s father was moved to tears by the generosity.

This has been a rare and fortunate event in the life of the Magic Lamp foundation, that former gift receivers could become gift givers.

Dear Áron,
We all wish from the depth of our heart that you find joy in this gift.

We are grateful to the Csoma family for their gift donation.

Barbara (11 years old, Zalaegerszeg)

Barbara, after a long time, could go home for a little while, so we were specially happy that Mr Enders helped us so quickly to make Barbara's wish come true.
In the morning we met Barbara and her mother in the Ronald McDonald House.
At first Barbara timidly answered Mr. Enders’s questions but half an hour later she tried to answer in English.
We got to know what kind of books Barbara liked to read, and Mr. Enders was laughing when it turned out that she liked dancing and playing video games. So there was a great happiness when she opened the package and saw the Xbox, including several games.

However, the list of surprises hadn’t been over yet. When Mr. Enders heard that they had to go home to Zalaegerszeg by bus, he arranged a car within a few minutes. The car was waiting for them in front of the house, and they driver took them home.

We hope that Barbara will get over the transplantation soon and after that she can live her daily life cheerfully with her family
again.

Bence (5 years old, Érd)

Bence came to Hungary from Transylvania with his mother to get a long medical treatment. He really misses his siblings, who stayed in Transylvania.

When Bence found out, that he can have a wish with Magic Lamp, he got really excited about asking for a mini electric car.
The big moment, when his wish came true took place in Érd. They are living there, at their friend’s house, so they can go to the hospital easily.
At the nearby playground, at first he was rather uncommunicative. But when he saw the big box (delivered earlier and hidden in the garage until that moment), which contained his present he jumped as high as he could (at least as high as his tiny legs allowed him to) and shouted „electric car!!!” very loudly.

Then they found some neighbors who were happy to help assemble the car. Bence watched the whole process with interest and more or less with patience. Finally the beautifully colored dream car was finished (and Bence was very glad it wasn’t pink!).
Bence insisted on getting in and try the car at first with his little sister, Boróka.

Later on I got a message from the family that everything works perfectly and everybody was happy. We hope his mood stays so until the full recovery and even after that for a long-long time.

Many thanks goes to the students and teachers of Thomas Mann Gymnasium for their support.

The idea behind Gábor’s wish was inspired by his favorite TV show, Treehouses. The students at Central European University were able to fulfill his wish by organizing a three day Valentine’s Day fundraising event.

Meeting Gábor and his Mom was a fantastic experience for our two main organizers. Gábor is full of energy and joy it is almost hard to keep up with him. It meant everything for us to make him and his family happy.

Rafael (9 years old, Mágocs)

We started our journey to Barcelona on a perfect day in May.
Rafi and his cousin, Bálint were extremely excited to see the FC Barcelona - Real Sociedad match. They arrived at the famous Camp Nou Stadium in their FC Barcelona Messi and Neymar jerseys. The stadium itself is a fascinating construction, especially when 80,000-100,000 people sing Barca anthem together.
Twenty minutes before the game both teams came out to warm up and luckily Messi and his team-mates practiced very close to the place where we actually took seats - they were almost within reach. The match has started, Barca were constantly attacking, but the result remained 0-0 at the end of the first half.
The second part had even more occasions that resulted two amazing goals. The second goal by Pedro, a superb overhead would be in the news for a long time: FC Barcelona-Real Sociedad 2-0. Enthusiastic fans, great atmosphere and the perfect seats guaranteed the remarkable experience for all of us. After the match we stayed for a while, making a couple of pictures ( some of our tanned but happy faces) and said good bye to this unforgattable place. Before we came home some time left for a short sightseeing, visiting the beach and eating some pizzas, the favourite food of Bálint.

Örs (8 years old, Pilisvörösvár)

Örs’s wish was a remote-controlled toy car. When I asked him about his request, he said that previously he’d had a remote-controlled car, but unfortunately it had been already broken.

Örs did not know what a cool day Monday would be... His mother just told him that the students and teachers of the British International School's are waiting for him...

We arrived at the school in the morning, where the 5th grade students were gathering to the General Assembly. It was also a surprise for them that Örs would be there.
The boy is waiting for a transplantation, he can be called in to the hospital at any moment, so we kept our fingers crossed that he could receive the gift personally from the donating students.
Within the frame of the celebration the students were talking about their benefit activities, and also about their work in order to make our two magic lamp children happy.
They were incredibly inventive: organised charity cookies sales, gave donations from their pocket money, they organised a sponsored walkand even asked their teachers to change positions for a day, that means they would be teachers, and teachers would be students.

/ 5

Their efforts were crowned with success, and Örs’s wish came true as the result of all these activities.

The boy was very happy and said that it was exactly the type that he had wished. We asked the students who would like to have such a wonder car, and almost everyone raised his/her hand...

Dear Örs, we hope that the car will also help you in the speedy recovery and remember the students' message and their song: you are important to them!

Many thanks for the support of the teachers, the fifth-grade students and their parents of the British International School of Budapest to make Örs’s wish come true.

Bianka Noémi (4 years old, Budapest)

Bianka is a lovable, agile little girl who adores her sister, Laura. They spend every moment together when the younger sister isn’t in hospital.
Despite the fact that the girls have separate rooms, they very much wanted to live in a common room. So Bianka’s wish was a furniture including two beds, a wardrobe and a writing desk suitable for both girls. It wasn’t easy to surprise them, as putting the furniture together took several hours, but at least she could see how her wish was realized.

By the time we arrived, the furniture had been completed, and Bianka - who was a little bit sleepy after a nice afternoon nap - quickly took possession of the new furniture.

Bianka, we wish you to have a good time with your sister in the newly furnished room.

Many thanks for the support of the students of the British International School and the help of our private sponsors that made Bianka’s wish come true.

Nikolett (16 years old, Gyömrő)

Nikolett gets up every day early in the morning to get to school in Budapest. So far, she wanted to become a pastry-cook but due to her changed health condition she has to change to another profession and therefore also change school.

So it is a great help to her to have the desired super-phone which can provide to keep in touch with her old and new friends. The gift was given on the joint charity event of the Hilton Budapest Hotel and the Fundamenta Lakáskassza Zrt on Friday afternoon in the Parlament Function Room of the hotel.

Niki excitedly opened the box, and when she saw the beautiful golden phone her eyes lightened up from happiness. She told the people around her that she was sure that she wouldn’t lose any of the old school mates, because she would use the new phone to talk to them at any time.

/ 4

As part of the charity program of the evening, Mr. Zoltán Téna, Hungarian Champion Barist showed Niki, her father and the Fundamenta team how some exciting cocktails were made and of course those would be tasted as well. As for Niki, Zoltán prepared her with love a fine tasting non-alcoholic coctail too.

Many thanks for the support of the Fundamenta Lakáskassza Zrt and the Hilton Budapest Hotel, as their cooperation made Niki’s dream come true.

Petra's and Noémi's wishes to discover Paris have been fulfilled. We met the kids at the airport in the early morning hours on 22nd April 2015. The airport and the flight were a great experience for the kids and for their mums, too. We arrived at the Charles De Gaulle Airport after a pleasant two hours flight. The swarming of the many people astonished the small team…

After we reached the elegant Hilton La Défense hotel the magical experience went on. The team of the hotel waited for us with attention and much love. The kids' rooms were decorated with colourful balloons. Delicious cookies, soft drinks, gifts waited for the kids every day. We set off after a short rest in order to discover the sights of La Défense where we stayed for four days. We saw the 100 metres high Grande Arche, the skyscrapers of the greatest business centres of Europe.

/ 3

We admired the historical buildings of Paris on the second day. We have been to the Notre-Dame, the Sainte Chapelle, we have walked on the bank of the Seine. We "climbed up" to the Sacre Coeur from where we enjoyed in the fantastic view of the city. The Métro (14 lines) and the 5 RER of Paris were a great experience for the kids, too. It was a little bit difficult to find the way "in the world under Paris."

Perhaps the third day was the high point of our trip. We took part in a cruise on the Seine. We have seen the most known and important buildings of Paris (La Notre Dame, Musée d' Orsay, Petit Palais , Grand Palais...) We went up with elevator to the top of the Eiffel-Tower. The kids enjoyed again the panorama of Paris.

The fourth day was also full of experience. We visited the Louvre, we walked in the Garden des Tuileries, and saw the Place de la Concord in the morning. We watched the beautiful shop-windows on Champ’s Elysées .We have seen the l’Arc de Triomphe.
Then we said our "good bye" to Paris on the Place de l’Étoile.

We arrived to Budapest late in the evening with full of experience and adventures.

Babett "before the gates"

"I can hardly find words to describe our fantastic and unforgettable days and experiences in Disneyland and in Paris.

We spent the first afternoon in Éva's company in Disneyland. She was very kind, attentive. She suggested us what to try out, what to do, where to go and what to buy. She always asked Babett what she wanted to see, to try out. We finished our common program with a healthy dinner in a friendly restaurant.

We spent the following day with Timi, Vivi and Joe. Timi is very cheerful enthusiastic. She laughed on everything. This stuck on the kids, too. Babett was very brave. She rode on the most terrible rollercoasters. She did it not alone, as Joe always helped her and went with her.

We met the other small team in Paris on the third day. This day was also full of surprises. We enjoyed a cruise on the Seine. We admired the beautiful city, its buildings, bridges, parks...also from the top of the Eiffel-Tower. It was great. We will never forget the sights of Paris.

Thank you dear Magic Lamp for this experience. Many thank in Babett's name for the huge work of the organization to fulfill the wishes of our kids. I am sure the team of the Magic Lamp worked hard and did their best in order to organise an excellent stay in Disneyland and in Paris.

If somebody asks Babett : " What was Paris look like?" She always answers with a wide smile: " Great, fantastic" And she starts to tell...

Thank you again for the beautiful days in "Fairyland"
